DIANE OUIMET

Diane is a certified Athletic Therapist and Massage Therapist.  Since graduating in 2006, Diane has worked with a wide ranged ability of athletes in a variety of sports.  She has recently completed her fourth season as an Athletic Therapist in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League .  She spent the past 3 seasons with the Shawinigan Cataractes, and is now happy to be in the Maritimes working as the Head Athletic Therapist with the Halifax Mooseheads.  She has also worked with Concordia University’s varsity Women’s Basketball and Men’s Hockey teams, as well as assisted with the Attak de Trois-Rivieres soccer team (the Montreal Impact’s farm team).

 

Diane graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Concordia University’s Exercise Science Program; Specialization Athletic Therapy.  She became a certified Athletic Therapist in 2006, and in the 2008 off-season took her Massage Therapy Course in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.  She has also taken courses in deep tissue massage, as well as Functional Movement Screening.  Diane provides everything from assessments of musculoskeletal injuries, to short and long-term therapeutic treatments, often using a combination of her skill sets.

 

As an athlete, Diane has competed in a variety of sports.  She has participated in 6 National Ringette Championships (medaling in 4), played for the Concordia Stingers Women’s varsity soccer team and is a former tennis instructor and soccer coach.  Her time in the sports world as both a therapist and an athlete provides her with a greater understanding of the physical needs of athletes (and the weekend warrior!) and their road to recovery.
